Welcome to the hillhacks wiki! [https://hillhacks.in/ Hillhacks] is an annual gathering in the hills where people from different places, walks of life and lines of thought come together to share, collaborate and learn. You can learn more about hillhacks [https://hillhacks.in/about/ here]. The organisation of hillhacks runs as a "do-ocracy": anyone can dive in and start contributing. Rather than a group of "organisers", anyone who shows up and helps with the setup is an organiser (or not). In this spirit, we have set up this wiki to document the organisation and setup of our gathering. A wiki is basically a common repository for documentation that anybody can edit. If you find some information that is missing or outdated, you don't have to wait for someone with the requisite permissions to update the website: just hit the "Edit" button and fix it yourself! == How to use this wiki == If you have read everything written so far, then congratulations: you have already mastered a major part of "using a wiki", which is reading the information contained in it! The other half of using a wiki is editing it to update outdated information. You can do this by [[Special:UserLogin|signing in or creating an account]] and then hitting the "edit" button near whatever section you want to edit. If an entire page is missing, you can just "visit" that page to be presented with an option to create it. The rest can be figured out quite easily, but if you're the kind of person who likes to read the documentation, you can check out MediaWiki's [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Help:Contents User's Guide] and this list of possibly helpful links that appeared when we set up the software, that we decided not to delete: * [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Manual:Configuration_settings Configuration settings list] * [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Manual:FAQ MediaWiki FAQ] * [https://lists.wikimedia.org/postorius/lists/mediawiki-announce.lists.wikimedia.org/ MediaWiki release mailing list] * [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Localisation#Translation_resources Localise MediaWiki for your language] * [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Manual:Combating_spam Learn how to combat spam on your wiki]
